Fantasyland is the most ride dense area of the park. This is the place that has most of the classic character rides that Disneyland is known for. Here is what you need to know about each of the rides.
Alice in Wonderland:
- In this ride you are in a colored caterpillar and ride through Wonderland. You weave in and out of the tales Alice experienced.
- This ride is good for all ages, but there is a part with the Queen of hearts that may scare young children a little.
- This ride is wheel chair Accessible if you can transfer into the ride car
- This is a pretty lazy ride but it is always busy. The cars hold up to 5 people so the line goes pretty fast, but it is rarely without a line to stand in.
Mad Tea Party
- This is the teacup ride
- Tea cups spin if you want them to. You have to tun it in the center.
- If you don’t want to spin a lot you will still twirl a little as the ride spins the tea cup as well.
- This ride has no height limit but if you get sick while spinning you may not want to ride.
- This is one of my 4 year olds favorite rides so little kids can handle it if they want to go on.
- This is wheel chair accessible if you can transfer into the teacup
Storybook Land Canal Boats
- This is a very lazy ride.
- You sit in a boat and go through all the storybook stories.
- This is a great ride for infants and young children.
- This ride is closed during the parades.
- This is handicap accessible as long as you can transfer from your wheelchair into the boat.
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- In this ride you sit in Dumbo and fly with him. in line you are given a magic feather to help him fly that is later collected by a cast member. We usually let the kids hold it until they ask for it back.
- This ride is good for all ages
- You can ride 2 people per elephant (3 if you have a small infant that sits on your lap)
- there is a lever that you can push up and down that moves dumbo high int he air or down to the bottom. You have complete control of how high you go or how long you stay up there. This is really fun for the kids.
- This is handicap accessible as long as you can transfer from your wheelchair into the elephant.
Casey Jr. Circus Train
- This is a small train where you become the animals and sit inside the cars.
- It tells the story of Casey Jr. who is tasked to take the circus animals up a hill to the next circus area.
- You travel around the storybook boat ride while on the train.
- This ride is good for all ages
- This is handicap accessible as long as you can transfer from your wheelchair into the train.
Pinocchio’s Daring Journey
- This is the ride about the classic story of Pinocchio.
- All ages can ride it but it does get a little scary at a couple parts so young kids may not like it without a little adult explanation.
- You sit in a car and go around the track. You don’t have to do anything but enjoy the ride on this one.
- This is handicap accessible as long as you can transfer from your wheelchair into the car.
Snow White’s Scary Adventure
- This ride can be ridden by all ages as well, but leaves you without that happily ever after feeling at the end unless you look to the right as the ride stops. The ride seems to end with the queen (dressed as the old lady) falling to her death (in a super dark room), followed by a book at the end in a bright and cheery room. But as the ride stops if you look to the right there is a mural of Snow White and the prince and it says “and they lived happily ever after” on the wall. This is the actual end of the ride, but most people miss it and it seems to end without the happy ending.
- If you look at the window on the tower outside the ride, every 30 seconds or so the velvet curtain parts to show the queen looking out on the people walking by.
- There is rarely a line for this ride, so it is a good one to go on if you need a quick ride before a fast pass or other times event.
- This is handicap accessible as long as you can transfer from your wheelchair into the car.
Sleeping Beauty Castle
- This is a walk through of the story of Sleeping Beauty.
- There are stairs in here with no elevator that I am aware of. Because of this it is not wheel chair accessible. They do have a video playing in a room by the path to walk through the castle to main street that you can get a wheel chair in if needed.
- This has story books throughout to tell you the story. This means you have to read the story to know what is next. As you walk through there are pictures and scenes on the sides that show you the story. The scenes move and the lighing changes and such so it is something you stand at for a minute to see the whole thing.
Peter Pan’s Flight
- Ride in a boat
- This is handicap accessible as long as you can transfer from your wheelchair into the boat.
- In this ride you take a trip through London and into Neverland. You fly in a boat above the city and get to see the lights and what it would look like. It is a slow, but a really fun ride.
- This ride is good for all ages
- There is always a HUGE line on this ride. usually 30 min or more. I would suggest going on this ride first thing in the morning because of the wait. There are no fast passes on this ride either.
Mr Toad’s Wild Ride
- sit in a car and ride with toad through his neighborhood
- This is handicap accessible as long as you can transfer from your wheelchair into the car.
- This ride is good for all ages. you can fit 2-4 people per car depending on the size of the people.
King Arthur Carrousel
- ride on horses to Disney songs
- This is located in the center of Fantasyland
- The horses go up and down so if you don’t want to have your seat go up and down you can sit in the stationary benches on the ride.
- Parents of infants and small toddlers can ride with them but the belt needs to be around your child and then you sit behind them.
Matterhorn Bobsleds
- closed until June 2012 for remodeling of the bobsled cars.
- This is handicap accessible as long as you can transfer from your wheelchair into the car.
- This ride is pretty fast. One of the tracks is supposedly slower then the other. I honestly can’t remember which it is since it has been closed for so long, but I think the right side is slower then the left.
- This ride has the abominable snowman in the ride and he growls and leans toward you as you go by.
- You must be 35″ (89cm) to ride this ride
- To ride this ride you must be in good health with no heart conditions. Also expectant mothers can not ride this ride.
It’s A Small World
- My 18 month olds favorite ride.
- This is handicap accessible EVC must transfer to wheelchair to get into the boat.
- Sit in a boat and travel through the world.
- There are little electronic people showing special parts of their culture as they sing small world.
- There are also hidden characters through each are so be on the lookout for all your favorite characters.
